Chelsea wrap up Kaby signing

Chelsea have added another wunderkid to their multi-national academy in completing the signing of Portuguese starlet Aliu Djalo, better known as 'Kaby'.
The Blues have moved quickly to head off interest from a number of rivals with the likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich credited with an interest in the 17-year-old, who is rated among the most exciting youngsters in Portugal.
"An attacking midfielder joining us from Portugal where he has played for the junior national team. Technically very good," said CFC academy manager Neil Bath.

Chelsea's Makelele set for PSG move

Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele has agreed to move to Paris Saint Germain.
The news will be a surprise to the Stamford Bridge fans as, despite being a veteran, the 35-year-old has been a popular and key figure for Chelsea in the last five years.
The Parc des Princes outfit approached Makelele for the first time in summer 2007, but the midfielder decided against returning to France.
It appears the former France star, who announced his international retirement following Les Bleus elimination at Euro 2008, is ready to embark on a final challenge with PSG.
Paris' new president Charles Villeneuve wants the club to bounce back after two catastrophic seasons and signing domestic stars Makelele and Lilian Thuram is reportedly his priority.
An announcement is yet to be made by Chelsea or Paris Saint Germain, who were unavailable for comment.

Inter coach Mourinho admits he wants Chelsea pair Drogba, Lampard

New Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho admits he's interested in Chelsea pair Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.
Mourinho also revealed he's ready to compete with Chelsea for Barcelona midfielder Deco: "I am not nostalgic, I like very much those players who have helped me to win so many titles. I cannot forget Deco, Lampard and Drogba.
"They're players who I could not ever say no to, I'd like to work with them again in the future, but I'm not haunted by this idea."

Ajax's Huntelaar jumps to top of Chelsea shopping list

Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has jumped to the top of Chelsea's shopping list.
The west Londoners are now monitoring Ajax striker Huntelaar after being turned down by Valencia's David Villa and AC Milan star Kaka.
Chelsea chiefs Frank Arnesen and Piet de Visser are both big fans of the Holland international.

Mourinho wishes Scolari best with "my Chelsea"

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho has defended Luiz Felipe Scolari's decision to announce his intention to join Chelsea during the European Championship.
He said: "For me it is completely normal and Portugal boss Scolari has acted in the right way. It was impossible to delay or hide his decision. I wish him the best luck for 'my Chelsea'. They will always be mine, except if the Champions League draw puts us face to face."

Chelsea eyeing Schalke's Rakitic

Chelsea are weighing up a move for Schalke 04 winger Ivan Rakitic.
Rakitic, 20, is likely to attract the attention of Premier League clubs this summer and Chelsea have already checked him out.

Desailly: Chelsea can survive Drogba sale

Former Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly hopes Didier Drogba remains at Stamford Bridge.
"For sure - as a Chelsea fan," Desailly said when asked if he would like the Ivory Coast star to stay at the London club.
"He's meant a lot to Chelsea but I believe we shouldn't concentrate on him.
"If he goes, Chelsea still have strength.
"It's not the player who's more important - it's the club."

Barcelona's Deco wants to play for Scolari at Chelsea

Barcelona midfielder Deco admits he'd like to work for Luiz Felipe Scolari at Chelsea.
"There's interest from Chelsea, which is normal, but Scolari hasn't said anything to me," Deco told reporters following Portugal's final Group A game with Switzerland.
"Now, we're talking to Barca (about an exit from the club). There are other offers, naturally.
"Scolari is a great coach and if I end up working with him again I'd be very happy."

Villa ready to open talks with Chelsea's Sidwell

Aston Villa have settled on a fee with Chelsea for midfielder Steve Sidwell.
Villa manager Martin O'Neill will agree to pay £5million for Sidwell.
Villa manager O'Neill hopes Sidwell can sort out personal terms quickly as half of the £5m is going to the former Reading midfielder as a pay-off, so Villa can keep his wages down.

Inter president Moratti: Chelsea's Lampard priority

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti admits landing Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is their No1 priority.
"Lampard? We like him, and he's our number one objective," Moratti said."(Jose) Mourinho likes Lampard a lot. We all know that he's a great player."
He added: "Has there been contact with Chelsea? I think there has but I don't know yet."

Ballack ready to shock new Chelsea boss Scolari

Germany midfielder Michael Ballack is ready to dump his new Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari out of Euro2008 when they face Portugal in the quarterfinals.
Ballack said: "We played against them in the World Cup and from that point of view I'm looking forward to winning against them again.
"I know several players from Portugal from Chelsea and other occasions, all of them are good individuals, they play well attacking and are great footballers. They also have Ronaldo, who has had a great season in England.
"It will be a difficult game but both teams are capable of going far, they are probably favourites but that may favour our game."

Scolari will make it difficult for Man Utd - Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo admits Manchester United will face a great challenge from Luiz Felipe Scolari's Chelsea.
He said: "Scolari gives his players the ambition to play attractive, attacking football. He is a great man, a great coach.
"With him at Chelsea, it is going to be difficult for United."
